  • Brian Head Resort, Giant Steps Lodge (329 S UT-143, Brian Head, UT 84719).

  • 50K: 6:30 AM, 6:30 PM Cutoff (12 Hrs)

  • 30K: 8:30 AM, 6:30 PM Cutoff (10 Hrs)

  • Bathrooms available in the nearby Giant Steps Lodge

Packet Pickup

  • Get your bib, race t-shirt, and other cool swag from our sponsors!

  • Time and location TBD. Likely will be the Friday afternoon before race day at Giant Steps Lodge, Brian Head Resort

  • There will probably be a “morning of” option as well at the starting line.

  • Packet Pickup information will be clearly communicated in advance of the race.

GPX File and Course Markings

  • Runners are strongly encouraged to download the course gpx file, but always follow on-course markings on race day as the gpx track and actual course may vary slightly.

  • 50K GPX file.

  • 30K GPX file.

  • Runners are encouraged to study the course before race day using the gpx file to anticipate critical turns and junctions.

  • It is the responsibility of the runner to stay on course and not get lost.

Cupless and Trash Policy

  • We will provide limited cups at the finish line and aid stations. Bring your own reusable cup and/or soft flasks.

  • Please dispose of trash properly in the trash cans/bags at aid stations and start/finish line areas. Any runner found littering on the course is subject to disqualification

Aid Stations

  • Aid stations will be stocked with Precision Fuel and Hydration gels, chews, and drink mix.

  • Will be staffed by EMTs and EMT student volunteers from Southwest Technical College with basic medical supplies.

  • Other foods, drinks, and supplies TBD!

  • Please see the Aid Station Chart on each race's page for mileage, elevation gain, crew access, and other aid station information

Pacers

  • No pacers are allowed, it’s only a 30K-50K after all!

  • In future years of the event we hope to offer longer race distances with pacers allowed!

  • Our Dixie National Forest permit limits the number of participants allowed. Spectators, friends, and family are encouraged to cheer on runners at the start, finish, and crew accessible aid stations. However, if any runner is found running with an unregistered friend who “just happened to show up” (AKA “pacer”) on any part of the course, the runner may be ineligible for finisher prizes and/or be disqualified.

Drop bags

  • Runners can access drop bags at the Sidney Peaks (50K and 30K) and Yankee Meadows (50K only) Aid Stations

  • Clearly mark each drop bag with the runner’s name, bib number, and the name of the aid station that you would like your bag to go to.

  • Make sure that bags are closed securely so that loose items do not fall out.

  • While every effort will be made to keep your drop bags secure, race officials are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Drop bag drop location and time TBD

Timing / Verification

  • Aid station volunteers will record bib numbers to keep track of runners. Make it easy for them by shouting out your bib number when coming into the aid station!

  • The short out-and-back section of the course summiting Brian Head Peak begins and ends by passing through the Brian Head Peak Aid station, which sits about 0.8 miles from the top. Actually getting to the peak will rely on the “honor system” (there will be no volunteers posted at the top). However, race officials reserve the right to verify the summit by requesting a runner’s gpx file (e.g., Strava activity) if in question.

Finisher Awards and Prizes

  • All finishers will get something cool to commemorate their awesome run! Exact awards TBD.

  • Prizes for top finishers (men & women) TBD!

Deferral/Refund/Race Credits/Distance Change Policies

  • Distance change: Can be done via Ultrasignup until the Wednesday before the race. You may downgrade to a cheaper distance but will not receive a refund for the difference. If you would like to upgrade, the original order is removed and you are given a credit to re-register for another distance, AT THE PRICE OF THE OTHER DISTANCE ON THE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL ORDER. You will be directed to re-register.

  • Refunds: If you cancel your registration within one day after you register you may receive a 100% refund, as long as you registered before the Wednesday before the race. No other refunds are available at this time.

  • Race Credits: If you cancel your registration prior to the Wednesday before the race, you will receive a 50% race credit (of the price you paid) towards any distance for the following year's event.

Bib Transfer

  • Can be done via Ultrasignup until the Wednesday before the race. Runners may transfer their bib (i.e. entry) to another runner if they are not able to make the event.

  • Within Ultrasignup, the transferor will see a "Transfer Registration" button on their order edit screen. The order edit screen can be accessed via the Edit link on their receipt or in their registration history (if they did not register as a guest). The original order is "removed" and a 100% credit is added to the system for the exact event under the transferee's name and email. The transferee is also sent an invitation that will let them bypass a closed or filled event.

Race Cancellation

  • If weather or other unforeseen circumstances are deemed potentially hazardous to participants or volunteers by event organizers and/or city officials, the organizers reserve the right to modify the event, delay the start time, postpone, or cancel the event entirely. Cancellation may occur before the event begins or at any point during the event. No refunds or deferrals will be offered for weather-related or other race-day cancellations.
